Used the battery for 2-3 more years. Mine did the same to my T battery (failing battery). All is well with the world again. That has been true in my experience at least.
Quick fix is put a good battery next to dead batter in charger, unplug charger from power and bend a paper clip so you can hold from positive of good battery to positive of old battery for 10 seconds or so.
