KAMLOOPS, British Columbia (AP) _ A flatbed truck loaded with steel beams barreled out of control Friday on a steep hill, smashing through several vehicles and killing eight people, authorities and witnesses said. She stayed at the crash scene and was not injured, with police saying impairment was not a factor.“Driver error sometimes is a factor in these things and it sometimes is no more than that, and other times there’s other things going on here,” Halskov added, noting there could be charges to come.“It was determined that a vehicle, a 2010 cream-coloured Kia Soul with Alberta plates, was travelling southbound on Highway 5 when it turned left on a red light in front of a northbound motorcycle,” Cpl. The woman in her fifties was from Kamloops, and she died at the scene of the crash.
