If she had gotten to the shelter (and thus to competent rescue) sooner she would have a better chance but she is too weak to swallow and was cold and is obviously very sick. Some of these pets just need help meeting their new family and getting out into the community, while others are too young to be adoptable when they enter the shelter, have medical needs, or are shy. www.headinhome.org
Our shoe total is just under 200! We had a great mix of feral and social cats from all over today — Hollister, Prunedale, Salinas, Royal Oaks, Las Lomas, and even 5 from the Soledad area! Her butt gave her away, though! Gordon is friendly and young without being a kitten so you’ll benefit from the fact that he can entertain himself and not eat the curtains. The 501(c)3 status was granted in 2008 and the rescue received a name: Headin' Home Pet Rescue. She was very fearful there, and they asked us to help her and take her into our program.

He came to us with a previously badly broken ankle that had healed poorly on its own, hobbling around trying to keep himself safe and fed. We were able to get his leg amputated a couple weeks ago at the PetFriends clinic in Hollister (thank you Dr. Hansen, Rick, and the crew there for being willing to help him) and he has officially gone up for adoption! It went up when she was trying to play tough, and then just a cascade of purrs and leaning in to pets. Gillegan (4 years old) can go to just about any home; as you can tell, he is willing to put up with some craziness.Both are available for adoption at our Sand City Petsmart location.The handsome, sweet orange boy in these photos is Chauncey. Her foster family adopted her (major foster fail) and now she works as a surrogate Mom to all the kittens that their family fosters. Special thanks to Bit 'O Blarney Pet Services for sharing their space on short notice so we could do all this as well. We don’t mean to sound flippant, this handsome boy is loved and missed by his family. We can help provide guidance and help you trap the mom so the cycle of pregnancy and suffering ends for her too!
