Since that 1967 morning, I’ve worn out several vinyl copies…cds, mp3s…and girlfriends along the way…playing this album privately before every major life event…presentations, speeches, important meetings, dates, weddings (lol)… it continues to ground me when I’m most in danger of feeling untethered…Greatest album of all-time!In 1969 when I was just four-years old, the first four LPs I remember listening to was “A Hard Days Night” by The Beatles, The Monkees debut album, Elvis’ Golden Hits and THIS album; it’s influence on me was profound, one of the most important jazz albums ever made.For those of us lucky enough to have been in those musical circles, this will bring great memories of a time when we still had some of the greatest artists around. “Best is Yet to Come”A friend hijacked me on my way to class to join him & another buddy to listen to this album. You had to be there!If you can find it get the DVD audio release of this album it is a 5.1 surround mix and it is absolutely stunning I bought it in 2003 right after it came out.. unfortunately dvd-audio did not catch on and it is it is now out-of-print but you can find it on eBayI was just turning 20 way back when the Album was released. He's in particularly high spirits, bantering with the audience and unspooling a long "Tea Time" monologue that Rat Pack buffs will relish. Reportedly, he called Frank Sinatra up at 5 a.m. and said, "I've got something really special for you." It was recorded in December 1968 and released in early 1969 as the title single for Frank Sinatra's latest album.
