I disagree. In flow, all your mental resources are occupied with the task at hand, leaving no room for other thoughts and feelings.

Forget what you have done and your problems and give 100% to the task.Now imagine that Kasparov (the chess champion) honours you with a game. Were they happy?

As in the same approach that we have with leisure, we can use our spare time in two different ways:However, the idea to make a happy home has never gone away, though it has to be something that both partners are committed to.
I know that this isn't the only or even the primary goal of flow, but I suppose it just makes me wonder if the sense of happiness afterwards might be similar.So, althought the reflections of the author are interesting, they are only valid if we push the flow theory to the extreme.I'm afraid I disagree. One way to see flow in terms of happiness is to place it in the tradition of the Stoics, who taught that happiness is found in the active engagement with the world. Solitude needs to be addressed and you then you’ll have the chance to experience happiness every day for the rest of your life.Quite simply, subconsciously they apply the prerequisites for happiness in a given task. Your goal becomes a sub-goal of your main goal (to raise your children well).
