Big mistake. Many instructions for this knot say to insert the butt end of the leader into the hole at the end of the fly line. You can use a nail or small tube, a Nail Knot tool of course, and I have always used hemostats.The Albright Knot is a great choice for any application. I use a six turn uni knot to connect my leader to flyline, when needed ( I still prefer leader loop to welded loop).

Hope I am posting this in the right place, I have always used a nail knot to connect my leaders, but lately I have switching leader sizes more often and was wondering if there is a better way to connect my line.
